What is PGWP Extension?
The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) extension is a program in Canada that allows international students who have completed a program of study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada to extend their work permit after graduation. The PGWP provides eligible graduates with an opportunity to gain valuable Canadian work experience.
Who can Apply?
International students who have completed a program of study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada may be eligible to apply for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) extension. It's important to note that the eligibility requirements and specific application procedures for the PGWP extension may vary based on individual circumstances, changes in immigration policies, or updates from IRCC.
When to Apply?
A PGWP is typically not extendable. But this year Canada announces extension of post-graduation work permits for up to 18 months to retain high-skilled talent. PGWP holders who are eligible for the facilitative process will receive messages about logging into their online IRCC Secure Account, starting April 6, 2023, to opt in and update key personal information.
